West of Fulshear the lots open up. Toward Simonton, Wallis, Brookshire and Sealy a fence keeps horses and goats in, marks a property line or frames an entry, and it can run a quarter mile. That changes the materials, the posts and how we price it.
What we build on acreage
- Wood rail fences, two to four rails, painted or natural. The photos above show a three-rail pasture fence and a green rail fence with mesh, both in Fulshear.
- Split rail for a softer, rustic boundary.
- Rail with welded wire mesh to keep dogs and small animals in.
- No-climb horse fence on wood or steel posts.
- Pipe fence for pens, arenas and long runs that need to last.
- Cross fencing to split pasture.
- Pasture, walk and entry gates, including automatic openers.
What to know before the estimate
- Length and access. Rough footage and whether a truck can drive the fence line. A plat or survey helps.
- Animals. Horses, goats, cattle and dogs need different heights, spacing and wire. Tell us what you keep. We are fence builders, not livestock experts, so check with your vet or extension office for animal-specific advice.
- Gates and equipment. Measure your widest tractor, trailer or mower. Gate posts and corners carry the load, so they get heavier posts and bracing.
- Water. Much of the land near the Brazos floods. Simonton, for one, is almost entirely in the 100-year floodplain. Tell us where water runs; open styles let water and debris pass more easily than a solid fence.
